It is always very nice to see Brian. He is a sweet boy and he tries very hard to understand the English language and the context of its usage. He independently uses his translator to help him comprehend important text and key vocabulary. Keep up the good work, Brian!

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, and comprehension

4) Phonics: long 'i' sound

5) Common and Proper Nouns
