Dear Brian's parents,

Brian had another strong English language lesson today. He was actively engaged throughout the lesson, consistently refering to his Anchor Chart and his translator, in order to follow along with today's reading, with more accuracy and comprehension. Wonderful!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Brian's Anchor Chart binder and we also covered Lesson 23 - Task 1 - U4L6 - In Class - Go Gator!.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: decoding, fluency, and comprehension

4) Genre: Nonfiction

5) Text Feature: Maps
