Dear Ryan's parents,

It was so nice to see Ryan after his move back to Canada and after my holiday away. He had a great lesson today and he worked very hard. Really well done today, Ryan!

For today's lesson, we reviewed his weekly test homework and reviewed his anchor charts. We also covered Lesson 9 - Task 2 - In Class - Your Turn - Literacy.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms (words and word phrases)

3) Reading strategies: pronunciation, context clues, fluency, and comprehension

4) Test-taking strategies: question and answer comprehension using the translator and rereading the story for key details and key words/phrases
