James did a great job today. He was very attentive and participated well. We looked at his unit test but he only had one correction so we moved on  to the lesson. Today, James read a nonfiction text about plants. We compared it with last week's story and James did a great job talking about how they were different (fiction text had characters, told a story, nonfiction text gave information and did not have characters). 

James and I practiced writing a few sentences and we will begin to practice using prepositions properly in sentences. James often leaves prepositions of place out of his sentences. "I went school today." Correction: "I went to school today."
