James did an excellent job today in class. He correctly spelled all spelling words and made great sentences for his vocabulary words. James did well with his lesson reading. He will continue to study the long /i/ sound in this unit and I encourage him to continue to practice at home (Tim/time, pin/pine, hid/hide). James began practicing using verbs in the present with me. I told him when the subject is singular in the sentence the verb has an /s/ or /es/ as the end but when it is plural it does not. James was not so sure about this. He will work on this in this week's homework.
