Dear Tiffany's parents,

Tiffany worked very hard throughout today's lesson. We were working on Tiffany's last weekly test, in which she achieved a 42%.

During class today, we worked on Multiple-Choice test-taking strategies for this challenging weekly test. I am asking Tiffany to REDO the Multiple-Choice questions ONLY (Q1-20), for this weekly test, as this week's assigned homework. I have notified Ms. Ling to email Tiffany a blank weekly test for Tiffany to complete.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Ling and she can explain my lesson planning Tiffany, in more detail.

Have a wonderful week to the whole family and I look forward to seeing Tiffany next Monday.

With my very best regards for your entire family.

Mr. Grande

________________

For your information, this is what I have emailed Ms. Ling:

---------------------------

Hello Ling,

Tiffany had a very difficult time understanding and completing her Weekly Test homework from last week (she achieved a 42% - attached below - fyi).

At school, she is in Grade 6, an EQAO (Government Test) Grade.

These G4 Wonders weekly tests are very similar to the Grade 6 EQAO tests. In her lessons, I will now begin focusing a significant amount of time helping her develop successful test-taking skills (which we did for her lesson today).

I would like her to REDO last week's assigned homework (I've attached a blank copy here - she may have to email it back to you when complete - can you forward it to me when you receive it back, please. Thank you, Ling) but she is only to complete the MULTIPLE-CHOICE portion of the weekly test (Questions 1-20) and NOT complete the Writing portion (Question 21). We will work on her test Writing skills at later lessons. Thank you very much, Ling.

If you or Tiffany have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Very much appreciated,

Domenico

Dear Serena's parents,

For your information, Serena asked if she was ready for G5 Level so we went to the G5 Wonders curriculum and it was somewhat challenging especially since I would be teaching her and evaluating her, at the G5 Level, NOT the G4 Level.

Since she is doing so well at G4 Level - Unit 2, and G5 Level might be too challenging for now, she asked if she would be able to move up units to maybe G4 Level - Unit 4 or higher. I believe that would be a good idea for her, she's ready (especially since she is asking for a more challenging curriculum, which is an excellent sign that she is ready). However, I told her to speak with her parents and if they agree, just to let me know. It was up to her parents. Thank you.

For today's lesson, we covered the following activities and concepts:

1) Homework Review

- Proofreading

2) Lesson 12, Task 2 - Literature book

- Genre: Folktale

- Genre: Expository Text

- Genre: National Geographic - Expository Text
