Dear Chloe and Chloe's parents,

For today's lesson (G4 Wonders - Lesson 1 - Task 1 - U5L1 - In Class - Figure It Out), I diagnostically administered the lesson at the grade level expectations for Gr.7 achievement. 

I am able to provide the following assessment results:

Speaking: Very good (B+/3+)

Listening: Good (B/3)

Vocabulary: Satisfactory (C/2)

Reading: Satisfactory (C/2)

Writing/Grammar: Satisfactory (C/2)

Chloe can effectively express herself in curriculum discussions (speaking and listening).

She is currently below Grade 7 standard in her reading fluency and vocabulary knowledge, which affects her overall comprehension of text. 

In determining her writing/grammar levels, I administered an exercise on complex sentence structures and she had some difficulties in constructing these sentences successfully.

I would recommend remaining at this Gr4 Wonders Unit 5 Lesson 1 level and my focus would be on strengthening the language components which are in need of attention for improvement.

Today's lesson was very interesting because Summer learned about the Italian and Chinese historical immigration experience to Canada, for many Italian and Chinese immigrants; including myself (Italian-Canadian).

Summer was very active and engaged throughout today's Language lesson. It was a very interesting lesson for Summer as it described the many important aspects of water in our lives especially the importance of ice cores for historical data about our changing atmosphere, over time.
