Dear Serena's parents,

It was so nice to see Serena again. She is such a kind, respectful, and thoughtful young lady to teach and she works so hard during our lessons. Wonderful!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Serena's excellent Weekly Test result plus covered Lesson 11- Task 1 - U6L1 - 'The Game of Silence'.  

We covered the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: predictions, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Fluency Pace, In-Character voice, Intonation, and Inflection.

4) Genre: Historical Fiction

5) Connotation and Denotation

6) Descriptive Vocabulary: Figurative Language, Adjectives, Adverbs, and Participles

7) Visualization - 'painting pictures' in the reader's mind, with the words you are reading
