Dear Serena's parents,

Serena had a very strong English language lesson today. She was fully engaged, as always, and her ability to quickly access and communicate her prior knowledge, on a variety of literacy concepts, is exceptional. She's an excellent student and such a sweet, intelligent girl. Serena's a joy to teach.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Serena's weekly test homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered specific Lesson 14 - Task 1 - U6L4 - Your Turn, activities.  

We covered the following literacy concepts:

1) Key Vocabulary - definitions

2) Homophones / Homographs

3) Context Clues

4) Affixes - Prefixes - Suffixes 

5) Base Words = Root Words

6) Latin Suffixes: '-fy', '-ation', '-ty'

7) Communication Strategies: detail, word choice, and clarity
