Dear Brian's parents,
Brian was better prepared for today's lesson and I thank Brian's mother for this. Brian had his Anchor Chart at his side and we were able to familiarize him to its effective usage and how it supports the knowledge learned during his lessons. It is a very useful resource for Brian to rely on, as he develops into a resourceful, motivated, and independent learner. Keep up your excellent, hard work Brian. You worked hard again today and you are progressing wonderfully. I am very proud of you and your English language progress.
For today's lesson, we reviewed Brian's homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 3 - U5W1 - Apr 12 - In Class/Homework - Weekly Test.
We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:
1) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms
2) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension
3) Test-taking strategies: Multiple-choice questions and Written Test responses
4) Combining Words: and, so, but
5) Capitalization: Names of people, places, and things
