Dear Michael's parents,

For Michael's last class with me, for this 2023 year, he still worked as hard as he usually does and had another very successful English language lesson.

Michael is such an amazing student and a wonderful young man. I will very much miss teaching him and I hope that I will be able to teach Michael again, in the future.

For today's lesson, we assessed Michael's homework, reviewed his anchor charts, and we also covered Lesson 17 - Task 1 - U2L2 - In Class - Jungle Treasure.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: pace, fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Folktale

5) Pronunciation strategies: 'th'
