Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe had another positive and engaging lesson today. We were covering some challenging curriculum but she worked hard to understand and she tried her best. That is all a teacher can ask of their students. Well done today, Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her anchor charts. We also covered Lesson 10 - Task 1 - U1L7 - In Class - Inventing Something New.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translatons, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: punctuation intonation, pace, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Biography

5) Figurative Language: metaphors and similes

6) Text Features: illustrations, photographs, diagrams, labels, captions
