Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe had another positive and energetic lesson today. She worked very hard and successfully completed all the lesson curriculum that was taught. She is a wonderful young lady to teach!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 16 - Task 1 - U4L1 - In Class - Our Life, Our World.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translation, definition, and synonym

3) Reading strategies: articulation & enunciation, inflection, intonation, pace, fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Expository Text

5) Text Features: map, key/legend, landforms, title, labels, and captions

6) Venn Diagram / Comparison Chart: compare (similar) and contrast (different)

7) Compound Words

8) Mind Map / Idea Web: 'My Regions'
