Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe works so hard during her lessons! She is quite independent now especially with her translation of challenging vocabulary and phrases. Her reading is improving so quickly and accurately. She has come such a long way with her overall English language learning. I am very proud of her and her progress. Keep up your amazing hard work Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 7 - Task 1 - U3L5 - In Class - Let's Help Out.

We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Narrative Nonfiction

5) Text Features: captions and photographs
