Dear James' parents,
I must apologize for arriving 30 minutes late to today's lesson. I overslept my alarm (my mobile phone was on low volume by accident). Ms. Ling Song will be contacting you in order to arrange a teaching schedule for me to make up these 30 minutes, for James' future lessons. Thank you very much for your understanding.
With a shorten lesson, James still had a very good, engaged English language lesson today. We had time to review James' homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder (briefly). We also covered some of Lesson 9 - Task 1 - U3L9 - In Class - Let's Communicate.
We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:
1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections
2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms
3) Reading strategies: fluency and comprehension
4) Genre: Expository Text
