For today's lesson, we reviewed James' homework submission as well as his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 8 - Task 1 - U3L8 - In Class - Weather All Around.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

2) Prereading strategies: identification, predication, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

3) Reading strategies: context clues, text features, fluency, and comprehension

4) Genre: Expository (Informational) Text

5) Synonyms and Antonyms

6) Text Features: map, captions, photographs, compass rose (north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest)

7) Pronouns and Verbs (first, second, and third person; singular and plural)
