Dear Michael's parents,

Michael did very well during today's English language lesson. We spent extensive and intensive time on reviewing his test-taking skills and strategies for Multiple-Choice and Written Responses for tests. He worked hard and developed stronger skills and strategies. Great work today, Michael!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's weekly test homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered some of  Lesson 26 - Task 1 - U4L8 - In Class - How Butterflies Came to Be.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - Translations

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Fluency, Decoding, and Comprehension

4) Genre: Folktale

5) Test-taking skills and strategies: 

a) Key Vocabulary

b) Context Clues

c) Citing Text Evidence

d) Topic Sentence

e) Closing (Concluding) Sentence
