Michael had another very strong English language lesson today. His reading articulation and enunciation of challenging letter blend sounds was excellent today ('th', 'ch', 'bl'). Well done, Michael!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder. Plus we covered Lesson 23 - Task 1 - U4L6 - In Class - A New Life in India.  

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - synonyms and translations

3) Reading strategies: articulation & enunciation, fluency, decoding, and comprehension

4) Genre: Realistic Fiction

5) Text Feature: Table of Contents (title, subtitles, author, chapters, pages, and sometimes, illustrator)

6) Comparison Chart: similarities and differences between two or more things (e.g.: India and China)
