Dear Michael's parents,

Michael had a very strong English language lesson today. He was very focused on his pronunciation of the 'th' blend sound and he did great! Super pronunciation today, Michael! 

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's excellent weekly test submission as well as his Anchor Chart binder. Plus we covered Lesson 14 - Task 1 - U3L10 - The Sound of Trash.  

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: predictions, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Decoding, Fluency, and Comprehension

4) Genre: Informational Text (Expository /  Instructional Text)

5) Text Features: Table of Contents (Chapters, Subtitles, Pages), Captions, Glossary, Index, Special Print
