Dear Michael's parents,

It is always very nice to see Michael. He is such an intelligent, sweet boy, and a true joy to teach.

Michael had a very strong English language lesson today. We worked on many different areas of his English language learning. We reviewed his homework as well as covered most of Lesson 8 - Task 1 - U3L6 - City Communities.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: text-to-self connections and predictions.

2) Key/New vocabulary

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Fluency, and Comprehension

4) Genre: Narrative Nonfiction

5) Text Features: Table of Contents (Chapter, Subtitle, Page), Captions, Photographs, Illustrations, Pictures, Special Print, Glossary, and Index.
