1. Adoni had recently captured a Brute with 'red hair'.

2. Teera forces Reina to shoot Treowe, which I must say is downright cruel.

3. He means to use Tre's sacrifice as a boost to the Matriarch position. Matriarch is a powerful position, and Tre's sacrifice will give her a large boost that will increase her chances of becoming the Matriarch.

4. Tre knew he would die anyway, so he chose to use his death as a chance to help males have a better life than now.

5. I think it is the time that was taken to make the said dress, and the fact that it represents what destinies Reina will most likely have, like Alexia or Matriarch.

6. Just about everything in the anthem is a lie, so Reina can't help but feel that she's been lied to. For example, 'Brutes are no more'. This proved to be a lie since we know that Brutes do exist. Jase and Rohan are living proof.

7. I admit that I was a bit surprised, even if I didn't show it. However, as I kept reading, I could understand the Matriarch's reason for not choosing Reina. Yes, I expected that Reina would be chosen, but I knew at the back of my mind that if this were a series, than there must be some sort of plot twist to the story, or else it would only be one book and not a series. If I didn't know this, I would be much more surprised.

8. When the Matriarch went to Reina's room to pick up the dagger that Reina was given from Rohan, she discovered the book in the room. Now that Reina knows, Matriarch Teera knows that Reina cannot be chosen, as she has shown herself to not be trusted, in the Matriarch's eyes.

9. I think Reina sent Neechi to Bella Terra so he wouldn't be targeted by the Matriarch, basically saying that she wants to keep the Gentle safe.

10. Reina thinks that if most of the Alexia still care about the Virtues, then joining them might increase the chance for Nede to undo its wrongs.
