Emily did a great job today, and read many of the words herself. Good words to practice are flower, bed, clean, friend, time.
Feb. 4--we read the story, and talked about the meanings of words. We spent some time discussing what the moon was, and how it is different than the egg. We talked about how the life cycle is real, (and I wasn't pranking her). Next week we will work on some of the comprehension questions.
For homework, Emily could practice

Great work today!
Jan. 28--we reread the story and concentrated on attending the text and learning the sight words. Emily is starting to be able to recognize individual words and state them. We didn't get to the comprehension work, so we will reread the same story next week and do them. Great work!
January 21st
Today we read the story and worked on the words in the word bank. Next week, we will reread the same story, and work away at the comprehension questions.

Today we reread the 5 little ducks, and completed the activities.

Emily did a great job working on the sight words and reading the text along with the teacher. She knows her number words well, and uses pictures clues to solve other words. But, little, went, only, and over might be good words to practice this week.

James did an excellent job reading 'Be Kind.' He told me has read this book before. James was a bit reluctant to participate in the post reading activiites and I am sure he is quite tired after his first week back to school. He made great sentences for his sight words.
Thank you and see you next week,
Ms. Katie
Hi,
James did a great job reading 'Giraffes Can't Dance.' It is the longest book we have covered yet and he managed to get through it quite well. I had James practice and sound out some of the harder words (crooked, awfully, elegant, spendid, and whisper). In his lesson activities James retold the story and was able to identify adjectives in sentences and tell me appropriate adjective for the characters in the story.
Great work from James today.
Thanks,
Ms. Katie
James did very well reading a longer and more difficult book today. He read independently and I assisted him with some of the more difficult or unfamiliar words (tortilla, gigantic, decorations).
James arrived approx ten minutes late and at 9:10 went to the restroom for approx 8 minutes so we had difficulty finishing all of the lesson slides. He can review of practice them. I will include them here in the portal.
Thanks,
Ms. Katie
James did a great job reading 'The Dot.' This is a nice story about a child artist and James seemed to enjoy the story. He participated very well with the post reading activities. Thank you.
Saturday, Aug. 7
James did an excellent job in class today. He read our story very well and participated well with the lesson slides. James and I corrected a few spelling errors on last week's homework but he did an great job with it. Excellent work from James today.
Thanks,
Katie.
Frances did a great job talking about 'The Mixed-Up Chameleon.' She was able to retell parts of the story and what happened in the beginning, middle and end.
Great job Frances,
Ms. Katie.
Frances did an excellent job in class today. She knew the story "We're Going On a Bear Hunt" and participated in telling it very well. Frances worked to make sentences and fill in the blanks with the lesson sight words.
Frances was engaged in the lesson and did an excellent job today.
Thank you,
Katie.

James did an excellent job in class today. He read the story of "The Giving Tree" independently. The only words he struggled with where 'branches' and 'shade.' Great job! James was able to talk about what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story. He did very well filling in the parts of the story while talking about the cause and effect happening in the story.
Excellent work from James today.
Thank you,
Ms. Katie.
Hi,
James did very well reading "Runaway Bunny" today in class. He said he liked the book. James was able to form sentences using sight words. I reminded James that he needed to begin each sentence with a capital letter. James wrote his sentences on the screen. He may find it faster and easier if he had a small white (dry erase) board to write his sentences on. We finished class with a short game to practice using verbs in the simple present in sentences.
Thank you,
Ms. Katie.
Hi,
Today, Frances and I read Madeline. She listened and participated in discussion while I read. Frances did well with the activity slides and she practiced reading the sight words (some, not all).
Frances says she liked the Madeline book. There are many different books about Madeline and I am sure they would be in your local library. There was also a very cute movie made about 15 years ago if she is interested.
Thanks,
Ms. Katie.
Hi,
Cynthia did very well in class today. Together we looked at her fable she wrote as homework in our last lesson and she did a great job. Cynthia was able to correct the irregular past tense verbs herself. Great job! We did the first lesson the Great Writing series. It was good for Cynthia to review writing complete and correct sentences. She did an excellent job using all lesson vocabulary words and correcting errors in a series of sentences. Cynthia knew and understood each vocabulary word very well. Next week we will try the first lesson from Book 1 and make a decision on the best program for Cynthia (Book F or Book 1).
Thank you,
Ms. Katie.
Hi,
It was nice to see James after his holiday. He did very well reading the story today. He completed his post reading activities and was attentive with our practice of verbs in the simple present tense. Thank you and see you soon,
Teacher Katie.
Frances did well today in class. She was attentive to the story and able to answer most of the comprehension activities on her own. She read several of her sight words and was able to match them to the pictures.
Great job Frances.
See you tomorrow,
Ms. Katie.
Frances did very well in class today. She listened attentively to the story and was able to answer questions about it.
Thank you,
Ms. Katie.
Cynthia did a great job in class today. She was able to complete her chapter of the story and answer the discussion questions correctly. Cynthia planned her fable that she will write for homework.
I have included the slides from our lesson in task 3. There is a fable at the end of the slides that Cynthia can read as an example of a fable if she is interested.
Thank you and Happy Summer Holidays to Cynthia.
Ms. Katie.
