Once again, Jason worked hard on his Math- Word Problems. Well done, Jason!

Jason still finds the 'wording' of the Word Problems to be a challenge however he is getting better at understanding what the Word Problem is asking him to do.

With more practice, the better Jason will become, in comprehension and strategies, for increasing the success outcomes with Word Problems. Thank you.

Jason was able to complete the Lesson 09 - Task 2 - Intensive Practice 3-1 Worksheets today! Fantastic!

He worked very hard. Word problems are challenging for Jason but he is gradually learning strategies that are helping him become more successful.

**We used colour coding to help break Word problems into 'chunks'. This seemed to help Jason understand the Word problems better, sentence by sentence (please refer to today's in-class work from the above lesson: pages 84-85).

Is it possible for Jason to have a pencil case full of highlighters for his Math Word problems? These will assist him significantly. Thank you very much.

Jason was able to use his new rulers today and he was very happy, thank you!

Can you please ensure that all the Math sheets you print out for Jason, are organized and put into a duotang, binder, or even stapled together?

Jason becomes very confused when he has loose paper that you print out. He gets disorganized and he can't find the sheet we need to work on. It makes my work with him during class, very challenging. Thank you.

Jason tried his very best with our Math lesson on measuring Length in centimeters (cm). It was very difficult for him because he still does not have a proper ruler (with centimeters and inches). I spent a lot of today's class trying to help Jason MAKE his own proper ruler. Can you please provide Jason with proper Math materials for his Math lessons such as a proper ruler. A geometry set would be highly recommended as well. For today's Lesson 3, we covered 'Subtraction without Renaming' (Task 1), and 'Addition with Renaming-1' (Task 2).

The lesson encompassed mental math and word problem strategies.

Jason's mental math skills are good overall. I will continue to refine and improve these skills during our lessons. 

Jason's word problem strategies require further attention and practice. Key vocabulary can be confusing for Jason in determining whether the question requires subtraction, addition, or both. He usually requires two attempts at the word problem to find clarity and accuracy in his answers. Further practice is recommended.

For today's Math lesson, we worked on Lesson 1: Task 2 - In-Class Challenge Practice (July 18) focusing on Word Problems as well as Addition and Subtraction computation worksheets (2-Digit Numbers).

Jason did well with Addition computation but he did have comprehension issues with the Addition Word Problems. He was also challenged by the Subtraction computation and with the Subtraction Word Problems. I would like to continue to work with Jason on successful strategies for all of the above Math challenges.
