Peter’s notes from the Field  March 17 2021

This book is mainly about the main character Peter’s dream of becoming a paleontologist. He has a sister called Charlotte ( she hates that name she wants everyone to call her ( L.B ) Little Beast ) Peter has a grandma called Hammy and a grandfather called Haji. Peter’s family live right beside his Haji and Hammy’s house. One day Peter's mother finds an ad where people can go to the Drumheller to get a chance to dig out fossils. His mother immediately asks L.B to fill out the form for her and they start their trip after 2 weeks during the 2 weeks Peter is very impatient and can’t wait to go to Drumheller to get a chance to discover his first fossil.

After 2 weeks Peter and his whole family goes on the trip. They stopped at a hotel in the middle of the day it was very hot so they rushed into the room. Peter refused to sleep far away from the air conditioner. The next day they went to Drumheller and Peter was fascinated with all of the fossils he went around the museum for hours and when he finally sat down for lunch he finally noticed how tired he was. Peter was the first in line for the dig but after 2 hours of hard work of digging his water was gone and he found out that he lost his inhaler so he was rushed back to drumheller after, Haji wanted to cheer him up by buying him a gift in the gift shop and he asked for a microscope.

Peter was very sad so he said that he wanted to forget being a paleontologist but Peter's mom said that he should pursue another subject to try and have another fond of. After a few days L.B found out that the royal tyrrell museum was hosting a contest for the best painting or drawing of the museum. L.B asked Peter if he wanted to draw a drawing with him but he said he has already given up on being a paleontologist and said that he didn’t want to participate. Later when the contest was about to start L.B showed up and gave Peter a poster and told him to submit it so that he might win first prize in the contest. Peter did and won the prized statue of the royal tyrrell museum.

 I recommend this book very much because it is very encouraging and many people in this story get back what they did to the main character Peter. I mostly recommend this book to children that are about age 10 - 18. I also recommend this book because it's encouraging about how people aren’t giving up always and that no one or nothing should ever stop you because of what bad thing happened. Finally, I think that this book should be recommended to every child if you insist.
