Since your children did not complete their G3 Enhanced Reading Wonders.Assessment.Weekly Assessment.G3U3W5.pdf for homework, I needed to use this Lesson teaching time to administer this Weekly Test.

Unfortunately, this missed teaching time impacts your child's overall learning of curriculum for this Unit.

Also, due to the limited time of our class (1 hour), their test results are not at their highest level.

By doing these tests at home, they would have the necessary time to achieve their highest potential result and they would not feel so rushed. Thank you.

I will be sending you your child's test result by Message, shortly. 

For Homework - please complete all or some of the following assignments: 

1) Your child has the option to REDO the above test, independently, and then submit to me for marking.

2) Unit 4, Lesson 1, Task 2 -                                    (Your Turn Practice):

We have completed our first week of ANEE English G3 - Unit 2.

Today, we covered Lesson 3, Task 4, in class. We covered the following:

1) Read p.1-15 (Reading Strategies and Vocabulary Building)

2) Completed p.16 (Summarize - Detail)

For homework, please have your child independently complete the Unit 2 - Lesson 4 Weekly Test and then submit before Monday's class. Thank you.

Please Note: your child's 'My Wonder's Dictionary', should have four to eight new word entries for this week's Vocabulary Building exercise.

Dear Amy,

For today's lesson (U4L4W1 Weekly Test), Evan read the first story (Food for Thought) and completed the 10 questions for that story.

We worked on the following literacy strategies for test taking:

- highlighting/circling unfamiliar words and finding the definition by asking the teacher or checking in a dictionary (online or book).

- taking the time to make sure you understand the test question and to understand all the answers before committing to an answer.

Evan did very well on this first story. He received a score of 7 out of 10. Great job Evan!

For homework. can he please complete the rest of the test (questions 11 to 21) before the Thursday G3 Enhanced class. Thank you.

Your children worked very hard today. They were focused and engaged throughout most of today's lesson and they were motivated to learn the curriculum in detail. Well done to them all.

Today, we covered the, 'My Wonder's Dictionary', creation and use. 

The expectation is for your child to find one word per lesson to write in their Dictionary (4 per week) and to build their Vocabulary Bank of knowledge.

There are four entries they need to make per word:

1) the Word;

2) the Dictionary meaning [dictionary.com - can be used];

3) a Synonym for the word [synonym.com - can be used]; 

4) Find the Word in the Text - write out the sentence the Word appears in, from the story. Thank you.

Today's Homework is to READ Lesson 9, Task 2, and complete the following questions:

1) p.61 - Sequence - 'Your Turn'.

2) p.63 - Compound Words - 'Your Turn'.

3) One Word entry into their, 'My Wonder's Dictionary'.
