Dear Jeff's parents,
It was very nice to see Jeff today and to teach him for the first time. He is a very bright boy and very respectful. He is a joy to teach.
Today's lesson was focused on introducing and explaining my expectations for Jeff's learning success. We reviewed the following lesson to help reinforce these expectations: Lesson 1 - Task 1 - Homework Spelling Practice.
We covered the following expectations and literacy concepts:
1) Being prepared for class: notebook, pencil, eraser, ruler, anchor chart binder (in future: Jeff's personally created dictionary)
2) Neatness, thoughtfulness, and care in his work
3) Reading Instructions carefully
4) Understanding ALL the vocabulary he is using/reading throughout our lessons and in his homework
5) He is to ask for clarification of any lesson curriculum concept that he does not understand (independent learner development)
5) I explained the purpose of Anchor Charts and his corresponding binder
6) Proofreading Marks
7) Open/Closed Syllables

(Please Note: Jeff explained that he is very busy with school work and with extra curriculars. I explained that I will try to keep his homework at around 5 pages and he has a week to complete it. He said he would be able to manage this.)
(**If he can submit his homework no later than 24 hours prior to his lessons, I would have time to be able to evaluate it before his lessons. The earlier it is submitted, the better. Thank you.)

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing Jeff next Wednesday.
My very best regards are with the entire family.
Mr. Grande.
