Dear Michael's parents,

I am so happy that you were able to successfully connect to your Hotel's WiFi and that Michael could have his lesson today. Wonderful! He had an excellent lesson, as usual, and it is always such a joy to teach Michael. He is such an intelligent, hard working boy.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's homework and we also covered his first lesson at the Grade 3 Wonders Curriculum (Happy Graduation, Michael!): Lesson 1 - Task 1 - U1L1 - In Class - Growing and Learning.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: pace, fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Visualize: descriptive language

6) Character: Traits

7) Synonyms: words and phrases
