Dear Marquis' parents,

Today's lesson was based on Marquis' extension of knowledge from this week's reading. He is such an inquisitive boy, with a very high intellect, that it is sometimes hard for me to keep up with all the excellent questions he has in regards to the lesson's main topic and all other subtopics extending from that, lol!  Amazing! He is an incredible boy to teach, and such a joy, truly.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Marquis' homework plus covered some of Lesson 21 - Task 1 - U2L8 - Dec 12 - Protecting the Island.  

We covered the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New Vocabulary

3) Reading strategies: articulation & enunciation, decoding, fluency, and comprehension

4) Effective Conversational English: pronunciation accuracy, word choice, and context clarity

5) Text Features: Table of Contents and Maps
