Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe was in very good spirits today! She won her track & field race, she achieved 7 out of 7 on her Math test, and her mom was very happy with her. It was a very good day for Chloe and I am very proud of her. She had a great English language class, as well. Keep up your awesome work, Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her anchor charts. We also covered Lesson 14 - Task 1 - U1L10 - In Class - The National Mall.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: pace, fluency, pronunciation, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Expository Text (Informational Text) - nonfiction

5) Multiple-meaning words: Homonyms

6) Text Features: table of contents, maps, glossary, and index
