Dear Anran's parents,

Anran had another excellent English language lesson today. With prompting, she was able to complete all the work I planned for her.

I will continue to focus on Anran's speaking skills and help encourage her to speak with confidence. I know she is shy but she is so intelligent and I am sure she has so much to share with others.

For today's lesson, we focused on Anran's test-taking strategies and her anchor charts. We did not have time to complete Lesson 23 - Task 1 - U2L6 - In Class - A Tree Full of Life.  

We covered the following test-taking concepts and strategies :

1) Re-read the text for comprehension

2) Comprehension: key/new vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: key words from the test questions (context clues) to help guide you to answers in the text

4) Double-checking and Proofreading Answers

5) Text Evidence

6) Hamburger Paragraph Writing
