Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe worked very hard throughout today's lesson. She was actively participating and engaged; motivated to succeed in her learning; and she was having a lot of fun. Chloe is a joy to teach. Great work today, Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's optional homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 23 - Task 1 - U2L6 - In Class - A Tree Full of Life.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - Translations and Synonyms

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Fluency, Decoding, and Comprehension

4) Genre: Informational Text

5) Text Features: Table of Contents (title, subtitles, author, chapters, pages, illustrator), and Maps (keys, labels, caption)
