Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe was fully engaged and motivated to learn thoughout today's lesson. She was very happy as well as we went through her assigned homework (she did very well) and she was eager to learn new vocabulary. Wonderful! Great job today, Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 29 - Task 1 - U2L10 - In Class - Alice's New Pet.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: in-character voice, context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fiction and Poetry

5) Text Feature: special print (color, highlighted, bold), title, subtitles, and table of contents (author, title, subtitles, chapters, pages, and sometimes illustrator)

6) Homonyms (Multiple-meaning words)
