Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe had another very strong English language lesson today. She was very engaged in her learning and she is exceptionally motivated to understand all the vocabulary she is reading in our activities. Her independence with Google Translate is excellent! Keep up your wonderful, hard work Chloe!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. Plus we covered Lesson 11 - Task 1 - U1L8 - People Helping Whales.  

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary

3) Reading strategies: Articulation & Enunciation, Fluency, Decoding, and Comprehension

4) Genre: Informational Text

5) Punctuation

6) Long Vowel Sounds

7) Short Vowel Sounds
