Dear Chloe's parents,

Chloe had another strong English language lesson today. Her reading is improving so much and her vocabulary knowledge is expanding and growing wonderfully. Keep up your great English language learning, Chloe!

Chloe seems to be having difficulty with her homework submissions so I will ask Ms. Ling Song to assist her. Thank you.

​​​​​​​For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's Anchor Chart binder and we covered Lesson 2 - Task 1 - U3L2 - In Class - Force at Work.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Informational Text

5) Text Feature: captions, photographs and table of contents (author, title, subtitles, chapters, pages, and sometimes illustrator)

6) Author's Point of View
