Tiffany had another strong English language lesson today. She worked hard, had fun, and was engaged throughout the lesson. Tiffany is such an intelligent, sweet girl and a joy to teach.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Tiffany's excellent homework submission as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 2 - Task 1 - U2L2 - In Class - The Badger and the Fan.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - definitions, synonyms, and translations

3) Reading strategies: context clues, text features, fluency, decoding, and comprehension

4) Genre: Folktale

5) Text Feature: Table of Contents (title, author, [illustrator], chapters, subtitles, pages)

6) Root Words / Prefixes / Suffixes 

7) Theme
