Dear Brian's parents,

Brian is developing very effective lesson skills and growing independence in learning that is beginning to provide him opportunities to succeed in knowledge acquisition, application, and communication. He is progressing well. We will continue to focus on Brian's test-taking strategies as well as comprehension and communication in all components of the literacy curriculum. For today's lesson, we reviewed Brian's homework as well as covered Lesson 1 - Task 1 - U5L1 - In Class - Figure It Out.

We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: identification and text-to-self connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Phonics: 'ar' words
