Dear Marquis' parents,

It was great to see Marquis' little brother today. He was spending time with his big brother in Marquis' bedroom and it was so nice to see their brotherly connection. Wonderful!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Marquis' homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 1 - Task 1 - U3L1 - In Class - That's the Spirit.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: decoding, context clue, fluency, articulation, enunciation, pronunciation strategies, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Appositives

6) Parts of Speech: interjections

7) Introductory Phrases
