Dear Summer's parents,

We had Summer's lesson at a new day and time today. Although we started a little bit late, Summer came to class ready to work and we covered a significant amount of the lesson plan. 

For today's lesson, we reviewed Summer's new Poetry anchor charts and we also covered Lesson 28 - Task 1 - U4L9 - In Class - Reading for Success.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: anchor charts, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: rthyme/beat and rhyme intonation

4) Genre: Poetry

5) Elements of Poetry

6) Types of Poetry
