Dear Summer's parents, 

 

Summer had a very good English lesson today. As the class progressed, he became more  engaged and positive with his responses.

 

Today's lesson was focused on Summer sharing his thoughts in detail and using correct word choices to explain exactly what he is trying to say. He did very well when encouraged to do so. Well done, Summer! 

 

We worked on Lesson 19 - Task 1 - U4L3 - In Class - Taking a Stand.

 

We covered the following literacy curriculum: 

 

1) Prereading: identification and connections - text-to-self and text-to-world 

2) Key Vocabulary: online dictionary definitions and synonyms/antonyms 

3) Genre: Fantasy 

4) Discussion: 'Examples of Leadership in your Life' : parents, teachers, etc.

5) Read: with fluency, context clues, and comprehension 

6) Challenging Idioms
