Dear Summer's parents,
As always, it was great to see Summer today. He had a strong English lesson and he was engaged and positive throughout. I challenged his literacy knowledge throughout the lesson and he was accurate with almost all of his answers. Wonderful! He is becoming more independent in his learning which is great to see. Keep up the great work, Summer!
Please Note: I thought you should know that Summer is not submitting his homework. If you would like to do so, can you please encourage Summer to complete his homework and to submit it at least 24 hours before class. Thank you very much.
For today's lesson, we worked on Lesson 17 - Task 1 - U4L2 - In Class - A Day in the Senate.
We covered the following literacy curriculum:
1) Prereading: identification and connections - text-to-self and text-to-world
2) Key Vocabulary: online dictionary definitions and synonyms
3) Genre: Narrative Nonfiction
4) Cause and Effect Chart: How do school rules help us get along with each other (specific examples)
5) Text Feature: Table of Contents
6) Government: differences and similarities between 'government' in the U.S.A and Canada
