Dear Summer's parents,

Summer had a very good overall lesson today; with very effective engagement and focus. Well done, Summer!

As this is my last lesson with Summer, until sometime in the new year, we spent good quality time in conversation, discussing Summer's interests and thoughts. He is such an intelligent boy!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Summer's weekly test homework as well as covered Lesson 14 - Task 1 - U3L10 - In Class - The Battle Against Pests.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: definitions and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Persuasive Text

5) Author's Point of View
