Dear Tiffany's parents,

Tiffany had another strong English language lesson today. Her vocabulary knowledge and their context usage has significantly improved. She is progressing very well in all four components of the English language: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Keep up your great, hard work, Tiffany!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Tiffany's homework as well as her Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 2 - Task 1 - U3L2 - In Class - Not From Around Here.

We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Text Feature: illustrations, and table of contents (author, title, subtitles, chapters, pages, and sometimes illustrator)

6) Paragraph/Sentence/Context Clues
