Dear Summer and Summer's parents,

For today's lesson, Summer and I worked on his understanding of Grade 6 Writing Expectations.

We focused on:

* Researching Main Topics and Details and including this information into his writing

* Reviewing the Writing Exemplars for Grades 4-6 and understanding what constitutes writing samples at all the achievement levels, from Level 1 to Level 4, for each Grade

* We reviewed Writing Strategies for Success.

He says that he now understands the Writing Expectations I have for him.

Summer is such an intelligent boy. I know that, with effort, his writing can significantly improve.

I look forward to his next Writing homework submission.
