Dear Marquis' parents,
It is truly amazing how well Marquis is doing with his Fencing (thank you mom for showing me Marquis' Championship Fencing video!) and his English language learning. I am very proud of him and I know you must be very proud of him, too.
He had another excellent lesson today, especially with his in-character voice while reading today's Drama (Play)! It was a lot of fun. Great work today, Marquis!
For today's lesson, we covered Lesson 20 - Task 1 - U2L4 - In Class - The Prince Who Could Fly.
We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:
1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections
2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms
3) Reading strategies: in-character voice, stage direction, action, decoding, context clues, text features, fluency, and comprehension
4) Genre: Drama (Play) - Folktale
