Dear Marquis' parents,

Marquis had another very strong English language lesson today. Once again, he was fully engaged throughout today's lesson and he participated exceptionally well.

I am so very proud of Marquis! He is an incredibly hard working and intelligent young man. Keep up your amazing, diligent work Marquis, for school and in your life. You're awesome!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Marquis' excellent homework submission plus covered Lesson 16 - Task 1 - U2L1 - In Class - Amazing Animals.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translation, definition, and synonym

3) Reading strategies: decoding, fluency, text features, context clues, and comprehension

4) Genre: Folktale and Fable

5) Theme Chart
