Dear Marquis' parents,
Marquis was so excited to tell me that he has friends visiting his home today and he is looking forward to playing with them. That's great! I know he works so hard so having time to play is a wonderful outlet for him (and his little brother of course). Have a wonderful day to you all.
For today's lesson, we reviewed Marquis' weekly test homework and reviewed his new anchor charts. We also organized his anchor chart binder for easier access to the literacy knowledge he is looking for.
We also covered some of Lesson 14 - Task 1 - U1L10 - In Class - Think Big.
We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:
1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections
2) Key / New vocabulary: translation, definition, and synonym
3) Reading strategies: decoding, context clues, and comprehension
4) Genre: Persuasive (Informational) Text
5) Context Clues: anchor chart review
6) Reading/Literary Genres: anchor chart review
7) Paragraph Writing strategies: Hamburger
8) Sequence
9) Cause and Effect
