Dear Marquis' parents,

I was sorry to see that Marquis had a sore throat today. We did not practice his conversation skills as much (although we briefly talked about his little brother playing with his toys without permission! It is the story of siblings everywhere including myself and my siblings when we were young and I'm sure with you and your siblings as well), but he still listened very well and he did read some of today's text. He is such a hard working student even when he isn't feeling well.

Also, can you please have all the Anchor Charts that I sent you this week, ready for Marquis to use for his next lesson? Thank you so very much.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Marquis' homework plus covered of Lesson 13 - Task 1 - U1L9 - In Class - Time for Kids.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translation, definition, and synonym

3) Reading strategies: listening skills, context clue, and comprehension

4) Genre: Informational Text (Persuasive)

5) Text Features

6) Instruction Comprehension strategies
