Dear Marquis' parents,
I apologize for not finding Marquis' weekly test homework and not looking in his past lesson folders. Thank you for directing me to those folders. It worked out in the end because Marquis and I were able to assess his weekly test together in class and he learned many test-taking strategies to help him improve for future tests. Thanks again for all your assistance.
For today's lesson, we reviewed and assessed Marquis' weekly test homework submission in great detail. We did not have time to work on Lesson 11 - Task 1 - U1L8 - In Class - George's Giant Wheel.
We covered the following test-taking strategies:
1) Context Clues: comprehension of vocabulary and text
2) Key / New vocabulary: spelling accuracy, translation, definition, and synonym
3) Reading strategies: key vocabulary, context clues, and comprehension
4) Test Writing Structure: topic / opening sentences
5) Test Questions: comprehension and key vocabulary
