Dear Marquis' parents,

It was wonderful to see Marquis today. It has been such a long time since the last time I saw him.

His conversational skills were a little rusty at the beginning of class however as we progressed through the lesson, his conversational skills significantly improved, which was great to see. 

For today's lesson, we covered Lesson 4 - Task 1 - U1L3 - In Class - Actions Count.

We covered the following literacy concepts: 

1) Pre-reading strategies: identification and connection (text-to-self and text-to-world)

2) Reading strategies: vocabulary and theme comprehension, fluency, context clues, and overall reading comprehension

3) Action and Effect: relationships

4) Correct Date Expression in relation to his friends' birthdays throughout the year

5) Idioms: English and Chinese
