Dear Summer's parents,

Summer was very eager and motivated to evaluate his homework with me during his lesson today. It was educational for him to actually learn how I evaluate his homework. Hopefully this will help guide his homework efforts with more accuracy and understanding. He worked hard today. Keep up the very good work Summer!

We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Genre: Realistic Fiction

3) Action/Cause and Effect Chart

4) Proofreading strategies

5) Homework Evaluation strategies
